Final storm total of 3 inches at my house in west Starkville...
Towards the end, the snow was melting/compacting as fast as it was snowing. The last 1-2 hours of the event it was snowing easily at an inch per hour rate. However, since it was right at 33 degrees, the totals just stayed steady at 3".
The sun came out in the afternoon, and most of the snow was gone by dark. We actually got up to 45 degrees. That's snow in Mississippi for you! lol
1-2" of snow for Starkville is the "safe" forecast. However, with such a healthy upper low the potential to overachieve is definetely there. It will really depend on precipitation rates/dynamic cooling. Strong bursts of snow can cover the roads even when they are above freezing...
Another thing to consider is the fact that the Raw guidance has not been handling the moisture/temperatures well from the start.
Good Moisture + Strong Omega = Potential To Overachieve
It will be fun to watch! Have to say I'm pretty excited...
